You can also park on Heekin avenue past the road closed sign. Park as close as you can to Observatory Circle. The most parking spots are on Observatory Avenue. The Strava link is Ault Park Race Loop.Īult Park is located at 5090 Observatory Circle. It is also closed to traffic and perfect for both new and experienced racers. The surface is fairly smooth with one slight corner and one speedy downhill with a few bumps, followed by an uphill sprint with the sun at your back. The 40k will cover this distance in one hour.

Totaling 2200 feet of climbing in twenty-five miles over forty laps. Located on a slope the 1km oval course rises and descends approximately 55 feet per lap. Novice riders may only ride the 18k and 30k events. This fee is in addition to the race entry fee.

40k Bonus plaque for the highest series points earner who is NOT a male Category 1/2 rider.Ĭash: Each race cash payout is $45, $35, $25 for the first three riders based on series points for riders who have raced a minimum of TWO weeks.Ĥ0k and 30k payouts are triggered if their field sizes average 10 riders per week.ġ6k Men and 16k Women payouts are triggered if their field sizes average 5 riders per week.Ĭash Bonus: 40k Bonus cash payout is $25 for the first rider based on series points for the highest points earner who is not a male Category 1/2 rider and has ridden a minimum of two weeks. Your first registration includes one free race number which you will keep and use for the ENTIRE series. Race day registration is available with NO late fees other than one-time $5 entry form completion surcharge.Įntry fees unused at the end of the series are non-refundable. Riders must stop after the sprint to be scored. Lap 17 horn sounds, Lap 18 Sprint – race over. Lap count is determined by the lead of the 30K race regardless if there is lapping of some or all 18K riders. This race runs in the standard criterium format with a single sprint at the finish determining rider placing. Points sprints are announced with a bell. The highest points earner who is NOT a Men Category 1/2 rider will win weekly prize and series prize.

Riders who lap the field will proceed to earn sprint points as part of the same group as the rest of the field. Ties on total points go to the rider who scored points latest in the race. Points are cumulative over the three-week series the rider with the most points after three weeks wins the series. The rider with the most points at the end of the night wins that night. The middle and final sprints are worth double points – 10, 6, 4, 2. Riders sprint every 5 laps, with the first 4 riders being awarded points – 5, 3, 2, 1. The weekly races and overall series are run as a points race, similar to what would normally be run on a velodrome: Men Category 1/2/3, Men Category 4 35+ Masters (ONLY), Juniors Category 3, Women.
